Twittering from the bobbingwide blog

In November last year I started investigating

  • Twitter for Drupal,
  • Drupal for Facebook,
  • Simple Twitter Connect for WordPress (STC) and
  • Simple Facebook Connect for WordPress (SFC).

I've now got the main Bobbing Wide web site set up as well.

I had a number of sites on which I wanted to integrate Facebook and Twitter.

I started on the Bobbing Wide web development blog.

After working on Drupal for Facebook, I then tried Twitter for Drupal.

That seemed to work, so I then switched to the WordPress plugins, on the Bobbing Wide web design blog.

Things appeared to work, but I later discovered they weren't actually working as expected. The problem was something to do with the Apache mod_security module. I got my hosting company to make some changes and things started improving. But I still had to check a lot of the WordPress sites. For the ones where I expect it to work I can now login using Twitter, write posts and either Tweet after posting, or Auto-Tweet when the post is first Published.

So today, I returned to the main Bobbing Wide site and tried signing in using Twitter. But it wasn't working. I compared the definitions of my applications and found that the callback URL was missing the vital /twitter/oauth.

So now it's done and this post should get tweeted. Finger's crossed.
