The home page or the landing page is the first point of call and the place to which people return when they've finished doing something. Sometime the home page is a blog page, but more often than not it's the page that lays out your wears.

For a very simple one page site the home page may be quite long, but normally it is fairly small with brief information about particular services or products and call to action links to encourage the user to delve deeper into the site. The sidebar widgets or blocks may include login, navigation, search, recent blog posts and social networking and bookmarking links.

One would expect there to be some attractive images on the home page.
