Simple Twitter Connect
About the Bobbing Wide web design blog
The Bobbing Wide web design blog is a WordPress website.
In terms of size it equates to a Gold level website but under the covers it's still very much a Wonder of WordPress site.
The web design blog is aggregated on this site... so you don't have to go there to read the articles.
Twittering from the bobbingwide blog
In November last year I started investigating
- Twitter for Drupal,
- Drupal for Facebook,
- Simple Twitter Connect for WordPress (STC) and
- Simple Facebook Connect for WordPress (SFC).
I've now got the main Bobbing Wide web site set up as well.
Another attempt to understanding Tweeting
In my post entitled Attempting to understand Tweeting I noted that I was unsuccessful in tweeting to my herb_miller account when logged into Drupal as herb, but NOT logged into Twitter.
Twittering when signed out - test 3
In this test I signed out of Twitter and Drupal and have signed back into Drupal only.
I'm the admin (bwdevel) not herb... where a previous similar test had failed (apparently).
Twittering when signed out - test 2
In my previous post "does it still Twitter when you don't sign in?" the answer was Yes... but I was still signed in to Twitter. I had logged out of and back into Drupal.
In this test I have logged out of Twitter, but not Drupal - YET.
Does it still twitter if you don't sign in?
In previous posts I have tried creating posts and seeing where they get Tweeted to.
Experience indicates that this post should NOT be Posted to twitter, even if I check the box, since I have not signed in using Twitter.
Well, there's no time like the present:
Checklist:
Announce this post on Twitter is Checked
Twittering to bobbingwide's twitter account
In previous posts I was able to Twitter to my personal twitter account ( twitter.com/herb_miller ) both successfully and unsuccessfully. I am now trying to tweet to the bobbingwide twitter account ( twitter.com/bobbingwide )
Steps:
When signing in, instead of using the Drupal login fields choose "Sign in with Twitter"
Attempting to understand tweeting
OK. so my latest post ( which I created as herb, having logged in using Twitter and having done what I said I was going to do - revoke and re-enable) did get Tweeted. See previous post
So what's the secret?
